Our Story

About Our Vineyard

Welcome to Mission Peak Wine, the crown jewel of Fremont, California, and the city’s only winery. We are a 100% estate-grown and 100% hand harvested vineyard. The winery is aptly named after the iconic Mission Peak, which graces the horizon of Fremont and is visible from every part of the vineyard. Nestled at an elevation of 1,600 feet into the breathtaking hills of Fremont, our 7.5 acre vineyard enjoys a unique microclimate that imparts distinct character to our wines.  The higher elevation helps produce greater color concentration and stronger tannins due to more direct sunlight. Our vineyard is snuggly set between a few wind breaks which help protect the grapes from high and cool winds.

We’re home to 4 types of grapes

Each grape is 100% estate grown, carefully cultivated, and 100% hand-harvested on-site, allowing us to control every aspect of the winemaking process and create wines that reflect the unique terroir of our elevated location

PINOT NOIR

Pinot Noir is notoriously difficult to grow which makes this our most coveted grape and sought after bottles. These grapes produce our Pinot Noir, Rosé, White Pinot Noir, Pinot Noir Swan, and Pinot Noir Reserve

CABERNET SAUVIGNON

The most widley grown red wine variety available in nearly every region. Our Cab is kept in Oak barrels and features a distinct flavor reflective of our wine maker.

SYRAH

Also known as Shiraz in some regions, these grapes make our dark and full-bodied wine. Syrah grapes produce drier wines than Cab and has the largest amount of antioxidents.

SAUVIGNON BLANC

When crafted into wine, Sauvignon Blanc grapes often exhibit a refreshing and crisp character making it a popular choice for those seeking a lively and zesty experience.

Our grapes are nourished by the pure waters of a natural spring that flows through the property, contributing to the vitality and flavor complexity of our wines. Unlike vineyards inland, our soil is kept moist and roots quenced. It’s this dedication to authenticity and the fusion of natural elements that make our wines truly exceptional.

In our onsite private tastings you can experience the fruits of our labor while taking in panoramic views. Whether you’re a seasoned connoisseur or a casual wine lover, our diverse selection invites you to explore the nuances of Pinot Noir, Syrah, Sauvignon Blanc, and Cabernet Sauvignon, with each sip telling a story of our unique vineyard.

At Mission Peak Wine, we embrace the spirit of innovation while honoring the tradition of winemaking. We invite you to savor the distinctive character of our wines, crafted from grapes grown on our property, and discover the beauty and flavor that can only be found at 1,600 feet in the hills of Fremont, California.
