PSA: New Wine Release!
Mission Peak Vineyards is a wine brand that sells 100% estate grown wine from their single vineyard in Fremont. Yes, you read that correctly; there is a commercial vineyard in Fremont, CA. Brittni, the owner of Mission Peak Wine, planted her first white varietal to her vineyard in 2020. These baby vines paired well with the nutritious soil at Mission Peak Vineyards and flourished year after year.
On March 20, 2023, the very first vintage of Mission Peak Wine’s Sauvignon Blanc was bottled. If you are a fan of white wines, make sure to try a bottle from this boutique woman-owned winery before it sells out. A total of 35 cases were produced making it a very special vintage. Wine can be purchased here for delivery to most states or schedule a winery pick-up if you are local to the Bay Area.

Here are a few food pairing suggestions for Sauvignon Blanc:
- Seafood: Sauv Blanc pairs particularly well with seafood dishes such as oysters, crab cakes, and grilled shrimp. Its bright acidity and citrus flavors complement the delicate flavors of the seafood.
- Salads: Sauv Blanc is a great match for salads, especially those with vinaigrette dressings. Its acidity can cut through the richness of the dressing, and its herbaceous notes can complement the flavors of fresh greens and vegetables.
- Lighter meats: Sauv Blanc pairs well with lighter meats such as chicken, turkey, and pork. Its acidity and bright flavors can balance the richness of the meat and enhance its flavors.
- Vegetarian dishes: Sauv Blanc is a good pairing for vegetarian dishes that are light and flavorful, such as vegetable stir-fries, roasted vegetables, and vegetable-based soups. Its acidity and herbaceous notes can complement the flavors of the vegetables.
- Spicy dishes: Sauvignon Blanc is a good choice for spicy dishes such as Thai or Indian curries. Its acidity can help to cut through the heat of the spices, and its fruit flavors can complement the complex flavors of the dish.
